WHAT ALBERTA CUSTOMERS SAY
Posted on Google Brian KeelerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I previously had a wooden dock at Pigeon Lake and steel pier stands. I just bought my new dock and it is the best thing I have ever done. I can not believe the difference, wider, lighter, easier to maneuver in and out of the water and extremely stable. Beachside was very knowledgeable, professional, helpful, friendly and courteous. I shopped around and could have saved a little money but the products were from guys working out of their garages, so if you had a problem or needed a part they might not be around. Beachside delivered everything to my cabin and carried it down to the shore line for a resonable fee and then gave advice on how to best assemble it all. I can only say that I believe that I made the right decision on my purchase and also get a 15 year warranty. A big thank you to Beachside, as they are only 5 km from my cabin, if I need parts or advice. A special thank you to Landon.Posted on Google Randy CrickTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The team was incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the entire process. They took the time to explain various options for moving my boat lift and offered excellent advice tailored to my situation. They also pointed me in the right direction for sourcing parts for my ShoreStation. If I ever need anything related to docks or lifts in the future, I won’t hesitate to call them. Highly recommended! Landon is the best, thanks again.Posted on Google Jason LangnerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Briley and Liam and their team were an awesome help! We bought the docks and they were installed the very next week, they even came back on short notice to help with adjustments and changes. Beachside has been great in the last year, in getting our Porta Dock 3 times. First install and responded quick to get additional pieces and now again in reordering more. Briley has always been quick to respond and helpful.Posted on Google Karen PrimroseTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
The best type of dock for an Alberta lake is a low-maintenance aluminum fixed dock or a highly durable modular floating dock, such as Wave Armor. Because Alberta lakes experience significant seasonal changes—including fluctuating water levels and ice movement—adaptive, rust-proof dock systems are essential for ensuring long-term structural performance.
Yes, Beachside Docks provides professional installation of Porta-Dock systems across Pigeon Lake and other high-use recreational lakes throughout Alberta. Our local installation experts ensure your Porta-Dock is perfectly configured to accommodate your specific shoreline depth, slope, and wave exposure.
Installing a new boat lift typically takes between two to six hours, depending on the complexity of the lift system and your immediate waterfront conditions. Our experienced dock and lift team ensures a seamless, safe, and efficient installation process, minimizing downtime so you can get out on the water faster.
We supply and install industry-leading marine brands including Hewitt, Porta-Dock, Wave Armor, Snap Dock, Shoremaster, Shorestation, Floe, and RGC. This diverse, top-tier inventory ensures we can provide the right structural solution and premium materials for any unique waterfront condition.
Yes, modular dock systems like Wave Armor are specifically engineered for easy and seamless expansion. You can easily add swim platforms, premium PWC ports, or extra walkways to your existing setup as your recreational needs change over time.
Our custom dock installations utilize premium decking materials specifically selected for maximum foot traction, UV resistance, and longevity. The structural hardware is heavy-duty and corrosion-resistant, ensuring it can withstand repeated seasonal exposure in harsh Canadian climates.
The primary difference is that a roll-in dock utilizes a fixed aluminum frame with wheels for easy seasonal removal on firm, gradually sloping shorelines, whereas a floating dock rests on top of the water using buoyancy. Floating docks are the ideal solution for deep water, soft muddy lakebeds, or lakes that experience frequent water level fluctuations.
Yes, Beachside Docks supplies and professionally installs heavy-duty dock solutions for commercial marinas and industrial waterfronts. We provide tailored, full-service marina support designed to safely accommodate higher foot traffic and larger commercial watercraft.
It is highly recommended to remove most fixed and floating docks before winter to prevent severe structural damage caused by seasonal ice movement. Our locally experienced team can advise you on the best seasonal maintenance and removal practices based on your specific lake’s behavior.
Yes, we carry a comprehensive selection of dock parts and safety accessories, including cleats, bumpers, swim ladders, and replacement hardware. We provide all the essential components needed to upgrade, reconfigure, or safely extend the service life of your existing waterfront system.
Choosing the right boat lift requires factoring in your watercraft’s dry weight, beam width, and the typical water depth at your shoreline. Our consultants conduct thorough site evaluations to recommend dependable lifts from top brands that perfectly match both your boat specifications and your local waterfront conditions.
A PWC (Personal Watercraft) port is a floating, drive-on platform designed to keep jet skis and waverunners safely out of the water when not in use. Adding a premium PWC port protects your watercraft’s hull from marine growth and significantly simplifies the launching and docking process.
Yes, every installation project begins with a personalized dock design and comprehensive site consultation. We carefully evaluate your shoreline depth, terrain slope, and wave exposure to recommend the most reliable dock layout for your long-term goals.

Boat Dock Systems for Alberta Shorelines
Lakefront properties across Alberta rarely share the same shoreline conditions and the wrong dock setup or installation can ruin your investment. Some waterfronts feature gradual sandy slopes that extend far from shore, while others drop quickly into deeper water or include rocky lakebeds that make dock placement more complex. Seasonal changes add another layer of challenge to boat dock installations. Spring runoff, fluctuating water levels, and winter ice movement all influence how docks must be installed and supported.
At Beachside Docks, we are experts in Alberta waterfronts and can help you choose the boat dock system that will work best with your shoreline conditions. Whether you’re interested in versatile floating docks, sturdy aluminum docks or high-quality used docks, we take pride in helping homeowners and marinas across Alberta maintain safe access to the water while protecting their equipment and boats.
Common Alberta Shoreline Types
Different shorelines require different dock solutions. Some of the most common conditions across Alberta lakes include:
- Gradual sandy shorelines where shallow water extends far from land. These areas often benefit from longer modular dock layouts or roll-in docks that reach stable water depth.
- Rocky or uneven lakebeds where adjustable dock posts help create stable support despite irregular ground conditions.
- Steeper drop-offs near shore where floating docks or shorter boat dock runs allow faster access to deeper water.
- Soft or silty lakebeds where wider base pads or floating dock systems prevent sinking and improve stability.
Boat Dock Challenges Across Alberta Lakes
Every lake environment introduces challenges that must be considered when looking to purchase a boat dock.
Strong winds across open water can create wave pressure against dock frames. Seasonal water level changes affect dock height and boat access. In winter, ice movement can place significant stress on fixed structures if they are not properly removed or designed for seasonal conditions.
Porta-Dock aluminum dock systems offer durability in these environments. Made from marine-grade materials, Porta-Dock dock systems offer both strength and flexibility and can be configured to suit different water levels.
Wave Armor floating docks can adapt to changing water levels, making them a great choice for challenging shorelines or areas with uneven lake bottoms. These modular floating dock systems offer endless setup options and can be customized with a full line of dock accessories.
Find a Boat Dock That Fits Your Waterfront
The most effective boat dock systems begin with understanding shoreline slope, water depth, and lakebed conditions. The right dock improves swimming access, protects watercrafts, and allows room for future expansion as waterfront needs change.
Beachside Docks helps match Alberta boat owners with the boat dock that best matches the unique characteristics of their shoreline. From modular aluminum docks to floating dock systems and boat lift solutions, the right boat dock setup and expert dock installation supports safe access and long-term durability on the water.
